The Principal Lawyer Belal Moraby has successfully handled hundreds of common law Personal Injury matters involving claims for Motor Vehicle Accidents, Public Liability & Medical Negligence.

If you have suffered an injury in a motor vehicle accident, you may be entitled to claim compensation. Claims can involve accidents between cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trucks and pedestrians. Even in cases involving unidentified or unregistered/uninsured vehicles there is potential to make a claim for damages.

With the exception of those catastrophically injured in a motor vehicle accident (under the Lifetime Support Scheme), in order to be successful, it is necessary to prove that the third party driver was wholly or partly negligent. Simply being injured in an accident doesn’t automatically mean you will be entitled to compensation.

The extent of compensation you may be entitled to will ultimately depend on the seriousness of the injury, how it affects your life, the extent of medical expenses, and the impact on your ability to earn a living.

As from 1 July 2013, new legislation came into effect which essentially introduced new thresholds to be eligible to claim compensation for pain and suffering, voluntary services and economic loss.

Please be aware that strict time limits apply to such claims and therefore it is important to seek professional legal advice.

If you have suffered an injury in a public or private place you may be eligible to claim compensation. This includes injuries which have occurred at a supermarket, service station, playground, Hotel, carpark, sporting facility, friend’s house, or even in a plane or boat accident.

In most cases, it is necessary to be able to prove that the injury was caused as a result of the negligence of another. It can often help to take photographs of the scene of the accident as well as the nature of injuries soon after the injury occurs.

As is required by the professional conduct rules, we ensure that you know up front what you will be charged.

In most cases, we will only charge legal fees where your claim is successful and you receive compensation. There are no up-front legal fees. We render our fees upon completion of the matter and await payment of settlement monies to you before we seek payment of our fees.

We set out to give you a reasonably accurate estimate of our fees before we commence work on your behalf. We are also required under the professional conduct rules to update you as to your legal fees and provide ongoing disclosure.

In some matters particularly where a matter proceeds to a Trial, it may be difficult for us to provide an accurate estimate of our fees and as such it will likely be necessary for us to revise the fee estimate as the case may be.
